We collect your email address, optional fishing-region preference, signup time and the consent wording you accepted to prepare future Global Fishing Journal newsletters. These records are stored in this website’s hosted database and can be accessed through owner-authorized administration. No newsletter provider is connected and no confirmation or marketing email is sent by this feature. Your email ownership has not been verified: records remain pending verification and must be reviewed and confirmed before a future mailing service sends newsletters. Save the private cancellation link shown after signup; using it removes that signup from the website database. Existing subscribers should use their original link. You can also ask the site owner to remove a signup. Records are kept until cancellation, owner removal or a later consent review. Do not submit someone else’s address. For basic abuse prevention, we temporarily store an hourly hash derived from the network address, a request count and an expiry time; the raw address is not stored in the subscriber table. Expired rate-limit records are removed when the signup service is next used. Hosting-provider security logs and backups are separate from the application records. Any future transfer to a mailing provider will need an updated privacy notice and verification process.
