Upcoming changeNorway — qualifying tourist marine-fish exports

Norway: tourist fish-export allowance falls to 10 kg in 2027

Marine fish, including cod · Effective 2027-01-01 · Checked 2026-10-20

From 1 January 2027, the qualifying tourist export allowance falls from the 2026 allowance of 15 kg to 10 kg of fish or fish products, usable up to twice per calendar year. It applies to eligible fish caught through a registered tourist fishing business; the exporter must be at least 12 and carry the required individual documentation. This is an export allowance, not a daily catch allowance. Salmon, trout, char and freshwater fish are outside this particular quota scheme. Arrange compliant documentation with your registered operator and plan how much fish to take home. This is an advance notice of an adopted change announced in 2025, not a newly announced closure.

These notices cover the changes listed, not every rule for the region. Check the linked authority before fishing.
